Jan 31, 2014

On Thursday, February 6 at 6:30pm, YIVO, in partnership with the Leo Baeck Institute and the Center for Jewish History, will present a roundtable discussion: Jews, Cities and Culture: Hamburg, New York and Kiev, with Emily J. Levine, University of North Carolina, Greensboro; Tony Michels, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Natan Meir, Portland State University; and Alisa Solomon, Moderator, Columbia University.

The discussion will focus on how the unique features of three distinct cities provided settings for the flowering of Jewish cultural and intellectual life, and on Jewish cultural contributions to the larger life of the cities in which Jews lived.
