About YIVO UK
YIVO is establishing an office in London as part of its larger mission to reunite Jews of Ashkenazi descent with their heritage worldwide. It will also serve as an important way for the people of the UK to learn about and appreciate Jewish history and heritage.
YIVO’s rare collection of documents, posters, and photographs related to the British Jewish experience will be made available to the people of Great Britain. This will be done through partnerships with relevant British institutions and in the preparation of exhibitions and public events.
The YIVO Library and Archives contains an estimated 23 million original documents about the lives of Ashkenazi Jews throughout the world. These treasures span from Eastern Europe to Russia to China to North and South America and include exciting artifacts from throughout the former British Empire.
