Mayor Eric Adams Proclaims March 24, 2025, “YIVO Institute for Jewish Research Day”In honor of YIVO’s centennial, New York City Mayor Eric Adams presented YIVO with a proclamation declaring March 24, 2025, “YIVO Institute for Jewish Research Day.” The proclamation recognizes YIVO’s vital role in telling the story of the Jewish people: “what they have cherished and endured, and how they have persevered.” The proclamation further states that, “For a century, YIVO has been that most precious and priceless resource that enables us to learn from yesterday so that we can hope for tomorrow.” |

New York Congressman Dan Goldman Visits YIVOOn May 27, Congressman Dan Goldman, who represents New York’s 10th Congressional District— home to YIVO—visited YIVO as part of its Centennial celebrations. During his visit, Congressman Goldman explored YIVO’s archival collections and toured the YIVO Learning and Media Center, an innovative educational space where students and the public can engage directly with primary source materials from YIVO’s vast archival collections. In honor of YIVO’s centennial, Congressman Goldman presented YIVO with a Congressional Resolution recognizing YIVO’s significant role in American history and its continued importance to Jewish scholarship, Holocaust remembrance, and cultural preservation, which, the resolution stated, “have profoundly enriched the intellectual and cultural fabric of the United States and the world.” |
