Koved zayn ondenk!: Dr. Benjamin Nadel (1918 - 2014)

YIVO mourns the passing of Dr. Benjamin Nadel, who died last last week on December 11 at the age of 96. Dr. Nadel was a linguist and a scholar of Ancient Greek and Yiddish, who received his early education in the Yiddish secular schools in Vilna. He was accepted into YIVO’s aspirantur (graduate study) program on the eve of World War II. Later, in New York, he became the Director of the Bund Archives, and was instrumental in its transfer to YIVO in 1992.

His family asks that donations be made to YIVO in his memory.
